Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 25, 2026

Parlable is a communication service for difficult conversations. This policy explains what information Parlable collects, how it is used to provide the service, and the choices you have about memory, exports, and deletion.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Parlable, we may collect:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, account settings, and subscription status.
  • Conversation content: What you type or share in Solo conversations, Rehearsal, Debrief, and related conversation features, including screenshots you choose to attach and drafts created during a conversation.
  • Conversation context and outcomes: Information such as the situation you are working through, whether a draft was created, follow-up responses, and outcomes you choose to report.
  • Relationship, memory, and derived conversation signals: Parlable may create relationship records, summaries, Tells, and structured signals from a conversation. These signals can include estimates such as emotional state, activation, what kind of help appears useful in the moment, and how confident the system is in an interpretation. They are working estimates used to adapt and evaluate the conversation, not factual claims about your internal state. When Memory is enabled and available, some continuity information may also help future conversations begin with relevant context.
  • Together information: Names, invitation/session information, shared messages, private side exchanges with Parlable, and commitments or session summaries created during a Together session.
  • Voice transcripts: If you use voice input, speech recognition is provided through your browser or device. Parlable receives the resulting text transcript and may process that text for punctuation. Parlable's voice-input flow does not upload an audio recording to Parlable.
  • Technical and analytics information: Product events, page paths, session identifiers, basic device/browser context, and a hashed version of your IP address used for analytics, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.
  • Email information: Email addresses and delivery records used for requested drafts, follow-ups, account messages, and service communications.
  • Payment information: Stripe processes payment-card details. Parlable stores subscription and Stripe reference information needed to manage your plan, but does not store your full card number.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to operate Parlable and provide the experience you asked for. That includes understanding the context of a conversation, generating agent responses and drafts, calibrating how an agent responds in the moment, evaluating conversation quality, supporting Rehearsal and Debrief, running Together sessions, restoring conversation history, and providing continuity when Memory is enabled.

We also use limited technical and product-usage information to keep the service reliable, prevent abuse, understand where people encounter friction, and improve product performance.

3. Memory and Conversation Continuity

Parlable can remember context so you do not have to start from scratch every time. When Memory is enabled and available with your plan, saved context may be used to prepare an agent for a future conversation and may be updated after a conversation.

Turning Memory off prevents saved agent-memory briefings from being used for future conversations and stops the memory-update path that powers those briefings. Turning the setting off does not currently erase conversation history or relationship information that has already been stored.

4. Together Sessions

Together is a shared conversation space involving another person. Shared messages are visible to the people in that Together session. When the product offers a private side exchange with Parlable, that exchange is not shown to the other participant, but it is still processed by Parlable to provide the session.

Together invitation links expire after 48 hours. Expiration prevents a new participant from using the invitation; it does not by itself delete the session record or its conversation history.

5. Service Providers

Parlable uses service providers to operate specific parts of the product. Conversation content is sent to Anthropic's API when needed to generate agent responses and perform conversation-related analysis. Stripe handles payments and subscriptions. Resend handles email delivery. Google Analytics may receive product-usage events when analytics is available. Parlable's hosting and database providers process data needed to run and secure the service.

These providers receive information only as needed for the service they perform and operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

6. Analytics, Cookies, and Abuse Prevention

Parlable uses session and authentication cookies for core functionality. Product analytics can include page views and interaction events tied to a session identifier and, when you are signed in, your account. Our internal analytics also store a hashed version of the requesting IP address. We use this information to understand product usage, diagnose problems, and protect the service from abuse.

7. Data Retention

Parlable stores conversation and account information beyond a single session when that information is needed to provide conversation history, continuity, relationship context, follow-ups, or other product features. There is not currently one automatic deletion period that applies to every category of data.

When you delete conversation history, Parlable removes the conversation content and conversation-derived memory covered by that request. Shared Together conversations are handled differently because another participant also has an interest in the shared thread: Parlable detaches and anonymizes the deleting participant's side while preserving the shared conversation for the other participant where needed.

When you delete your account, Parlable removes the account and conversation history and cancels an active subscription. Minimal billing records may be retained separately where needed for financial or recordkeeping purposes. Operational analytics may be retained only after the direct account association is removed. Transactional email logs retained for operations are detached from the account and stripped of the deleted account's email address and metadata.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect account and conversation information, including secure authenticated sessions, access controls, rate limiting, and third-party payment processing. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices
